Certified Youth Philanthropy Facilitator

A Certified Youth Philanthropy Facilitator has completed Magnified Giving’s facilitator training and is prepared to lead students through a real grantmaking experience. Working alongside their students, they guide young people to research local nonprofits, evaluate community needs, and decide together how to award a real grant.

What Certified Facilitators Are Trained to Do

Certified facilitators are prepared to:

  • Lead students through the grantmaking process, from identifying community issues to presenting a final award.

  • Guide nonprofit research and evaluation, including site visits, interviews with nonprofit leaders, and comparing organizations on impact and need.

  • Build consensus among young people so the group makes its decision together and every voice is heard.

  • Connect giving to service and civic learning, helping students see themselves as part of their community’s solutions.

  • Steward a real grant responsibly, following Magnified Giving’s guidelines for awarding and reporting.
